CryptoZombies is a free, interactive resource which teaches users how to code decentralized applications (DApps) via building their own game. The resource is solely focused on the Ethereum network and the programming language for the Ethereum network which is Solidity. CryptoZombies is powered by the Loom network. The Loom network is an open-source project which enables developers to build large-scale applications. The Loom network tackles the scalability issues of the Ethereum network which can only process 15 transactions per second. CryptoZombies is available in a number of different languages apart from English including Portuguese, Spanish, and French among others.

The course starts off with the absolute basics and is suitable for the absolute beginner. The resource is gamified by rewarding users with crypto-collectables for completing coding lessons. Once the lessons are complete, users can deploy their own DApps and also participate in the CryptoZombies blockchain game. Users have noted it to be a great resource for learning Solidity on online forums such as Reddit.

Pros & Cons
  • Gamification of learning Solidity
  • Accessible to complete beginners
  • Users will be able to deploy their own DApps
  • Some question the security of the Loom Network as a layer 2 solution
